like if i set up a camera and pressed record then walked a couple steps back.. did something and walked back and turned it off..... could i on windows movie maker or something, delete me walking back and walking forward to turn it off so it would just show me doing whatever for the camera? (sorry if its confusing)

Yes, Windows Movie Maker could get that done easily. Just highlight the parts you want to delete, and press the delete button.
