I have noticed that many top contributors have their personal photo for an avatar.
I have been contributing to Yahoo Answers for almost a month now (With no avatar)
and I would like to add one. But I can only see a way to create a cartoon avatar,
I can't find a place to upload a personal photo.
Can someone please help?

You have to upload it to your Yahoo Profile and use the avatar from it.
Go to "My Profile" and follow the links "edit my profile" and select Use "my profile image"
