i have a kodak zi6 and everytime i put Brand New batteries in it dies...why is this happening..i use high quality batteries too

What do you mean "dies". Does it fail to turn on immediatedly when you put in batteries? Does it work for 45 seconds before shutting down? You are inserting the batteries in the right direction correct? You are using 4 fresh AA's right? You've tried Brand New AA alkaline batteries?
Even though it says you can use NiMH or NiCd batteries, you should always check power problems with new alkaline batteries.
