I need help buying a used camera on Amazon.?

Is 16,000 shutter clicks a lot of usage? Does this in any way affect the performance of the camera? If the seller on Amazon sends you a broken one do you get a refund?

Best Answer

I never buy used. My reasons are simple. Usually with used equipment, especially buying on line, there are several questions I would have that always go unanswered.

These are: How has the camera been treated? Has it been roughed or beaten up? Wet? What does 16,000 shutter clicks actually mean? How was that number reached - in dirt, dust, mud?

I, for one, refuse to take the chance and always buy new.

I would expect no refund.

16,000 shutter clicks on a DSLR is nothing really, the Consumer models are rated at 50,000 clicks while the Professional models are rated at 100,000 clicks. Usually they far exceed the number of 'Rated' Clicks. My Nikons do at least. I've had a Nikon D200 go well above 50,000 Clicks before I gave it to a friend...
