HP Photosmart m547, immediately turns off when I go into shooting mode.?

I recently dropped my camera into some water, i took out the batteries and memory card and let it dry out. It seemed to work fine, I turned it on and was able to browse my pictures and videos with no problems but then I tried to put it into shooting mode and it loses power, the lens does not even retract before it turns off. I have tried replacing the batteries and lithium batteries, neither helped. I removed the memory card, and tried resetting the camera. Nothing seems to help though. I'm trying this before I take it to a specialist who im sure is gonna charge a small fortune to fix it. So please no, "Idk take it to a camera store." answers.

when you drop your camera into water, it is going to break.
I know you don't want to hear this, but your camera is broken.
You won't be able to fix it yourself, and it won't be worth repairing.
It's time for a new camera.
Be More careful, and keep the next camera dry!!!

I'll bet you use a neck or wrist strap next time.
