Sand in my camera lense!?

i got sand in my camera lense yesterday!
(i have the Sony cyber-shot)
normally, the lense should pop out when turned on.

now, when i turn the camera on, i can hear the sand grits in the lense.

defects:
-i cannot use the zoom
-when the lense should close (when i turn my camera off), only one closes.

how do i get rid of it????
do i have to get it professionally cleaned?

This would probably require the camera to be opened up and taken apart, so it's best to get this handled by a professional. But if it's more expensive to repair your camera than its original cost, you might as well get a new one.

yes, but i would ask what is the price of the fix 1st. That could need replacement parts which price don't compensate the fix.

It will likely cost more to have your camera serviced than it will to buy a new camera. Happy shopping.
