How can you fix an SD camera memory card error without losing the photos on the card?

I was taking photos fine on my camera one night and the next morning when I went to look through the photos a message saying 'card error' came up. Now the camera won't work with the memory card in it. Is there any way to fix this without losing the photos because the memory card has all the photos from my vacation.

Thanks for any help =D

Do nothing else with the card. Download 'recuva' and install it. It's free.

Plop your card into your computer/reader, run recuva and cross your fingers. If the images are recoverable, recuva will do it's magic things.

There is the possibility that you've fried your card with static or whatever, or that the card has simply died. Recuva can't do anything for you - neither can anything else - but at least you've lost nothing by trying.
