Im looking for a Digital Camera (one of those bigger ones) that has a really fast shutter speed and pretty good picture quality but also runs on desposeable batteries. Im thinking of anything under $700. I go on long camping trips so i want something that can quickly catch pictures, is durable and since i dont have access to many power outlets a way to use throw away batteries.
They all run on batteries and if you buy a battery grip, it can use both Li-ion and disposable AA batteries.
Look for the Nikon D40 with 18-55 mm and 55-200 mm lenses ... under $700

Pentax K-x 12MP DSLR with 18-55mm Zoom Lens (has HD Video also) - $550
Below, I listed some links where you can look up reviews and see what camera works best for you. The first link listed below is to a web page that lists the 3 DSLR cameras I am recommending. This list will let you compare features and specs, also it has link to reviews to the 3 cameras, the reviews include sample images from the cameras.
I am a Nikon user just to be up front on that matter but I think you should a really good look at that Pentax K-x I listed above, it also does HD video which may be of interest to someone camping? It also has excellent high ISO quality which can be helpful when shooting in low light. I am thinking about it for a 2nd camera (it or one of these new compact high quality cameras). This Pentax uses AA batteries, feature some people like and some do not. You can get AA rechargeable and carry extra batteries when traveling camping.
